Mrs.  Karri  Hobby

Dear Norwood Families,

Norwood Elementary School is turning 65 this year!

We are all excited to have our students back in our classrooms and hallways filling them with energy and enthusiasm. It is our mission to help every child feel welcomed, connected, and a part of the Norwood Family. Additionally, we strive to challenge each student to grow in his or her academic abilities and to be middle school ready when they finish 5th grade.  At Norwood, we have wonderful teachers that spend hours planning and creating classroom activities to engage our students.  We have support staff that strive to make the building a clean, organized, and an inviting place where students feel safe to learn and grow.

This year will be very exciting as we go 1 to 1 with Google Chromebooks for all 3rd-5th grade students and 1 to 2 for all K-2 students! Your child will have access to valuable learning on the latest technology! We will have a technology night Monday August 20th at 6:00 to give you more information about these great devices!

We hope that you will find our website (http://www.nwes.acs.ac/) helpful and informative.  All of the information we send out via newsletter can be found on this site.  Our monthly newsletters are sent home in the first Friday folder of the month and will be posted on our webpage and Facebook page. We also have a Twitter account (@NWESJaguars) that will be used for quick announcements throughout the year.

I am honored to be starting my 8th year as principal of Norwood Elementary School.  It is truly a privilege to be a part of a community where parents, teachers, and students care for each other and strive to build positive relationships that support academic and social growth.  Please feel free to contact me at 865-435-2519 or at khobby@acs.ac with questions or concerns.

Once again, welcome back and Happy 65th Birthday Norwood Elementary School!
